Eligibility: This event is limited to currently active members of the Motion Picture Exhibition and Distribution Industry, as well as its Affiliated Industry Partners and Services. Applicants who hold current internships within the Motion Picture Exhibition and Distribution Industry, as well as its Affiliated Industry Partners and Services are also eligible.

 

TRAVIS REID

Travis Reid has been in or around theatrical exhibition since he started working at a drive-in movie theatre as a freshman in college.  He is now currently serving as the CEO and President of Worldwide Cinema for RealD.

After graduating from college, Travis began working for a small theatre chain in San Francisco, Theatre Management Incorporated, where he moved in to film buying.  He went on to hold film buying positions at Century Theatres, Mann Theatres, and  General Cinema before moving to the New York area in 1991 to run the Loews Theatres film department.  Travis stayed with Loews, and its successor Loews Cineplex Entertainment, in various positions and was CEO from 2001 through the merger with AMC Entertainment in 2006. 

Travis has also held the positions of CEO of DCIP, CEO of Screenvision, and President of Distribution of Broad Green Pictures.  He has served on the Board of Directors of AMC Entertainment, Loews Cineplex Entertainment, Fandango, Yelmo and Megabox and was a Trustee of the Cineplex Galaxy Income Fund.  In 2005, he received the Motion Pictures Pioneers Foundation’s Pioneer of the Year Award. 

His past professional and community affiliations include: executive committee member for the National Association of Theatres Owners, former chairman of the group’s “Committee of the Whole,”  Vice President of the Will Rogers Memorial Fund, programming committee chair for ShowEast, and President of the Foundation of the Motion Picture Pioneers.
